A Busy Mom’s Morning: Packing Lunch with Our Stainless Steel Lunch Box

Mornings in our Glen Waverley home are nothing short of chaotic. Between wrangling my 9th-grader, Emma, out of bed, making sure her school bag is packed, and getting myself ready for the day, there’s barely a moment to breathe. But one thing I’ve come to rely on to make my mornings just a tad smoother? Our stainless steel lunch box. Let me walk you through how this little gem has become my lunchtime lifesaver.

It’s 6:45 AM, and I’m already in the kitchen, bleary-eyed, sipping my second coffee. Emma’s in year 9 now, which means she’s pickier than ever about what goes into her lunch. She wants something “Insta-worthy” but healthy, and I want something quick, practical, and waste-free. That’s where the stainless steel lunch box comes in.

I grab the lunch box from the drying rack – it’s sleek, sturdy, and still looks brand new despite daily use. The compartments are a godsend for a mum like me who’s trying to balance variety with convenience. Today, I’m packing Emma’s favourite combo: a chicken and avocado wrap, and a handful of grapes. 

The wrap goes into the largest compartment – no need for cling wrap or foil, which saves me time and keeps things eco-friendly. The grapes in the other. I love that everything stays separate and fresh, no soggy sandwiches or squished fruit here! The box seals tightly, so I don’t have to worry about leaks in Emma’s school bag, which is a massive win after last year’s yogurt incident. And there is a space given inside the lunch box for fork and spoon. It doesn't mix with the food as well. So no worries of spoon and fork odor inside her bag. 

One of my favourite things about this lunch box is how easy it is to clean. After Emma gets home from school. I just pop it in the dishwasher. No scrubbing, no fuss. As a busy mum juggling work, school runs, and after-school netball practice, anything that cuts down on dishes is a hero in my book.

Living in Glen Waverley, we’re all about community and sustainability, and this lunch box fits right into that vibe. Emma loves showing it off to her friends at school – apparently, it’s “cool” now to have a reusable lunch box. Who knew? Plus, I feel good knowing I’m cutting down on single-use plastics and teaching her to make eco-conscious choices.

By 7:15 AM, the lunch is packed, Emma’s yelling about missing her bus, and I’m tossing the lunch box into her bag with a quick “Love you!” as she dashes out the door. Another morning, another lunch packed with love – and a whole lot of help from our trusty stainless steel lunch box.
